F.A.Q.

Why Pet Mice?

Mice, like rats, tend to have a bad reputation for being pests and for being disgusting, therefor, it is very hard to find many people who are interested in keeping these pets. In fact, rodents are some of the best pets to have. They take up very little space; can be (and usually are) very affectionate; and are fairly inexpensive to house/feed. If you want an animal that can fit in your palm, is easy to get trust from, and is always amusing to watch, then a pet mouse is for you.

Pros and Cons

Pros:

  • Small area usage
  • Friendly and curious
  • Cheap to feed and house
  • Easy to handle
  • Amusing to watch

Cons:

  • Sometimes they generate a strong scent if cage isn't cleaned out regularly
  • Not as extremely smart as rats (but not dumb, either)
  • Easy to lose
  • Short life span (about 2 years)
